Tips for Busy Moms – How to Manage Time with Your Baby.
Well, it is time for you to start working again after maternal leave. You really miss the moments you prepare your presentation, travel for business trips and so on. However, you worry about your new baby. Can I keep breastfeeding my 3 month-old baby? Who will take care of my baby? Who will monitor his or her growth? What if he or she gets sick and I am not with him or her?
This problem is one of the most common problems for new mom who decide to start working again. You want to start your activity again, but you are not sure how you can enjoy working without neglecting your new baby?
You don’t want to lose your special moment to monitor how your baby grows, but also you still want to struggle for your career? Read these tips:
CHOOSE A GOOD CHILD CARE
If you decide to place your baby at child care, make sure you choose a child care with good reputation, skilled and certified nannies, healthy and nutritional food, the staff practice personal hygiene and safety procedure. Be selective in choosing a child care, and remember, quality is not always about the expensive price. Gather information as much as you can, so you can compare several child care, then choose the one which meets your baby needs. If you prefer having work-at-home nanny, interview her around twice , to find out whether she really likes working with children, whether she can handle any kind of situation properly, and whether she can love your baby and she won’t bring bad influence to your baby. Be double selective and ask for reference to find out her track record.
KEEP MONITORING AND BREASTFEEDING YOUR BABY
No matter how overloaded you are with your meeting materials, always remember to monitor your baby’s development all the time. Maintain good contact with the child care you place your baby in, the nanny who works with your or your parents, if you decide to place your baby with your parents. Do not forget to give your baby breast milk. You can do it and put your breast milk in a baby’s drinking bottle and remind your parents or nanny to give that milk to your baby at certain hours. Again, double check to make sure that your baby is properly fed.
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR BABY
Your baby still doesn’t understand what you are talking about, at he or she knows that you are communicating with him or her. The result is amazing! I have a friend who had to travel for business trip, so she had to leave her 6 month-old daughter for several days. She told what she would do, where she would go to her baby, like ”Dear, I am sorry, I have to leave you for several days. Please don’t cry, don’t worry, I will miss you and go home soon. ”When she arrived home, her baby welcomed her as if they were separated for years. That’s the power of communication.
KEEP HEALTHY
If you are not healthy, you won’t be productive and you won’t be able to take care of your baby. If you can finish your assignment at office, do not bring it home. If you have nothing to do at the office, just leave the office and go home. Do not waste your energy for unimportant things.
HAVE ME-TIME
You also need time for yourself, to relax yourself. At least once a month, you can spoil yourself, like you change your haircut or have your body massaged, for example. Have time for yourself about 1 -2 hours to feel relax and get new energy to start again
ASK YOUR HUSBAND TO PARTICIPATE TOO
Actually, this is considered less important, but it is important. Explain to your husband that he also shares the same responsibility with you. Ask them nicely to participate to monitor your baby’s growth and development. Appreciate what he has done.
