The U.S. group Yahoo! committed, Wednesday, February 24, to share content with Twitter. The two companies did not want to give details on the economic conditions of the agreement.

The first innovation provides direct access to the Twitter stream since the homepage of Yahoo! or mail service. Other applications should be integrated in the coming weeks.

Customers will soon update their status directly on Twitter, through the services of the U.S. group. Publications on the microblogging site will also be better integrated, real-time results in the search engine Yahoo.

BATTLE OF REAL TIME

For Twitter, it’s an opportunity to reach a new audience – Yahoo! claims 600 million users worldwide. The portal continues to share its integration of social networks, after a similar agreement with Facebook in December.

After Google and Microsoft, which now include social networks in the results of their search engines, Yahoo! also wants to become a competitor in the battle of “real time”. Since the beginning, Google has taken a further step in integrating social networking service including “Buzz” in its Gmail.
